CashBox. A retail operating system across five surfaces.
CashBox runs UK convenience stores, supermarkets and pubs end to end: the till at the counter, a mobile console for owners, an app for staff, one web portal for head office and store owners, and the public website. Every till keeps selling through an internet outage and syncs back to the cloud when the connection returns.
I built CashBox as a full-stack developer at Shopezy Portal L.L.C. in Ajman. CashBox is a standalone product and runs separately from Shopezy’s own platform.

Offline-first checkout for the counter
A Flutter till app built for low-spec Android POS hardware (Sunmi, iMin, Elo) as well as desktop. Sales, stock and prices read from a local SQLite database, so scanning, tendering and printing keep working with no internet. PowerSync replicates every change to Supabase Postgres in the background, scoped per store through JWT claims.
Used by Cashiers, supervisors and managers on dedicated POS terminals
- Barcode scanning (USB/Bluetooth HID and camera), visual catalogue, park & recall baskets
- Promotions engine: BOGO, mix & match, multi-buy, fixed and percentage deals
- Dojo card terminal push payments, split tender, pay-later store accounts
- ESC/POS printing over LAN, USB, Bluetooth and serial, Sunmi built-in printer, cash drawer kick
- Shift floats, cash in/out, blind-count reconciliation; X, Z, shift and VAT reports
- Challenge 25 age checks with a refusal logbook, chiller temperature logs
- Customer-facing second screen on dual-display terminals with promo media
- PIN cashier switching, role permissions and manager overrides for voids and refunds
Tills, the companion and the staff app read a local SQLite copy and sync through PowerSync, scoped to each store by JWT claims. The portal talks to its own Express API over the same Postgres, so a price changed in the portal reaches every till on its next sync.
